HOMEWORK: Please bring a spiral notebook or three ring binder with paper to class EVERYDAY. You also need a pen and a highlighter. Remember to add today's quick write into your new notebook or binder.

1. Craft reflective essay. Minimum of 500 words (100 points) due Friday by 11:59 pm to turnitin.com. You will have an opportunity to ask questions, discuss with classmates and edit the next time we meet in class.

1. Work on reflective essay drafts - assign chrome books
2. Check out textbook & The Crucible
3. Quick write #2: What qualities lead to success? What are colleges and employers looking for? How do your goals align with your grades, activities and passions? Ultimately, how will you need to improve upon your present resume during this school year?
3. Open a Google Doc and create an Academic Resume (these can easily be modified for other purposes later) Use the examples in google classroom and online sources for formatting ideas.
4. Resumes should be 1-2 pages in size 12 font. If your resume exceeds one page, always print back to back.
HOMEWORK: Resumes due Monday 8/19 to google classroom by 11:59 pm. (20 points)

4. Small group discussion activity and essay preparation (10 points) - Be sure to highlight quotes for later use.
HOMEWORK: Complete resume for Mon 8/19 (20 points) and type and illustrate America Is... poem for Tuesday 8/20. Be sure to submit by the beginning of class. Poems MUST be ORIGINAL, at least 20 lines and formatted onto one piece of paper. PLEASE put your name on the BACK. (20 points)
